thp-orchestra-black-orpheus-manha-de-carnaval-crazy-crazy-xa14248
Thp Orchestra - Black Orpheus (Manha De Carnaval) / Crazy, Crazy

“Black Orpheus (Manha De Carnaval)” brings the Brazilian song tradition into view through a title that has travelled far beyond its original setting; here, it shares the record with “Crazy, Crazy,” a neat reminder of how disco could make room for familiar standards and fresh dance-floor turns. Thp Orchestra sits at the meeting point of funk, soul and disco, where a strong groove gives a song a new way to move without losing its roots. Released in 1978 on Butterfly Records as CM 1204, this United States pressing connects a well-travelled melody with a more playful title. The result reflects disco’s gift for carrying songs across settings.

Label: Butterfly Records
Catno: CM 1204
Year: 1978
Genre: Funk / Soul
Style: Disco
Country: United States
Artist country: Canada
Media condition: Very Good (VG)
Sleeve condition: Generic

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1064/0788/7187/files/wm_xa14248_side_a_thp_orchestra_black_orpheus_manha_de_carnaval.jpg?v=1793500447
