the-gap-band-steppin-out-you-are-my-high-zf29018
The Gap Band - Steppin' (Out) / You Are My High

Disco has always made room for a little funk in its stride, and The Gap Band bring that meeting to this 1979 Mercury release, catalog number 76021. The groove is the point: disco’s steady pulse invites the body onto the floor, while funk keeps the music nimble and alive. “Steppin' (Out)” and “You Are My High” give the record its two titles, each presented without needing a story invented around the words. There’s a pleasure in hearing dance music hold both kinds of motion at once—one foot in the beat, the other ready to shift. The Gap Band are a funk group, a natural fit for that lively tradition.

Label: Mercury
Catno: 76021
Year: 1979
Genre: Electronic, Funk / Soul
Style: Disco
Country: United States
Artist country: United States
Media condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)
Sleeve condition: Company Sleeve

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1064/0788/7187/files/wm_zf29018_side_a_the_gap_band_steppin_out.jpg?v=1793124026
