Playgrounds - Always Friends / This Old Man

Description
Playgrounds brings two familiar children’s titles into the bright, dance-minded world of early-’70s disco and funk. “Always Friends” and “This Old Man” sit at the meeting point of children’s music and stage-and-screen entertainment, where a well-known song can become part of a playful performance rather than simply a nursery rhyme. That setting gives this 1973 release a distinctive place in the era’s musical imagination: lively popular styles made room for songs shared across generations. Issued as a 7-inch single on Playgrounds, catalog number PL-2002, it pairs those two titles in one compact release. The tradition of children’s songs keeps finding new ways to travel.
