Hot Chocolate - Blue Night / You Sexy Thing

Description
In 1975, Hot Chocolate paired “Blue Night” with “You Sexy Thing” on a seven-inch single, bringing two distinct titles together in a moment when soul and disco were finding fresh ways to meet. The group’s name sits comfortably in that crossover: funk’s inviting pulse and soul’s expressive warmth both belong to the wider dance-floor tradition behind this release. Issued by Parlophone as RAK 199, the single gives “Blue Night” its own place alongside the better-known title, without asking either song to stand in for the other. It’s a small, vivid piece of mid-seventies music culture, shaped around the enduring pleasure of rhythm and a memorable song title.
