James & Bobby Purify - I Was Born To Lose Out / I Can Remember

Description
James & Bobby Purify bring “I Was Born To Lose Out” into the soul tradition of turning hardship into a song that can be shared. Soul has always made room for tenderness and grit side by side, letting a voice carry both without smoothing away the pain. Here, the title itself points toward a story of setbacks, while the record’s lasting appeal lies in that familiar human tension between what life deals and what a heart holds on to. On the flip, “I Can Remember” offers another title to sit with, as memory becomes its own kind of reckoning. Bell Records issued this 7-inch single as 721.
