Martha Reeves - Love Blind / Love Blind

Description
A little disco sparkle, with funk close at hand: Martha Reeves brings “Love Blind” to this 1975 Arista Records single, ASDJ-0124. Reeves is a soul singer, and that tradition gives the track a welcome point of connection to a rich musical lineage: soul has long made room for expressive voices, rhythmic drive and the pull of the dance floor. Here, disco and funk meet in the title’s inviting simplicity, while the single format keeps the focus on one named song. “Love Blind” appears on both sides, a neat detail for a record built around the same title. Soul’s blend of voice and groove continues to travel easily across styles.
