The Shirelles - Soldier Boy / Baby It's You

Description
Forever Oldies brings The Shirelles together on a 7-inch single with “Soldier Boy” and “Baby It's You,” two titles that place the group in the close harmonies and direct romantic storytelling of the girl-group tradition. That sound drew on doo-wop’s shared vocal lines while meeting the concise craft of Brill Building pop, where a song’s hook and a chorus could carry a whole story. The Shirelles’ name belongs naturally in that world: the songs keep the focus on voices, feeling, and the memorable shape of a pop tune. This edition is catalog number SWF-21070, pairing both songs under one label.
