Ancient Monarch (Formerly Frisco Kid) / Steely & Clevie - Thug It Out / One Pop Version

Description
“Thug It Out” puts Ancient Monarch (Formerly Frisco Kid) at the center of this Jamaican dancehall release, where the music’s familiar pull lies in the meeting of a vocal and a rhythm built to travel. The other side brings Steely & Clevie’s “One Pop Version,” giving the record’s two named contributions a clear conversation without needing to blur their distinct credits. Released in 2002 on Studio 2000, this Jamaican pressing belongs to a tradition that has long made the version a vital part of reggae culture: the rhythm can return, shift its role, and invite another voice into the exchange. Here, both titles keep that dialogue in view.
