Al B. Sure! - Off On Your Own (Girl) / Noche Y Dia

Description
Al B. Sure! brings the polished pulse of late-’80s contemporary R&B to this 1988 single, where New Jack Swing’s crisp rhythmic snap meets soul’s close-up romantic feeling. “Off On Your Own (Girl)” gives the release its name, while “Noche Y Dia” adds a Spanish title to the pairing without changing the focus on Al B. Sure!’s R&B world. New Jack Swing grew from the meeting of soul vocals and hip-hop-informed rhythms, turning the beat into part of the song’s emotional charge. Issued by Warner Bros. Records as catalog number 7-27870, this United States pressing belongs to a moment when R&B was finding fresh ways to move between tenderness and groove.
