Al King - My Name Is Misery / Better To Be By Yourself

Description
Al King brings two sharply named songs together on this Modern single: “My Name Is Misery” and “Better To Be By Yourself.” The titles suggest the push and pull of heartache, a natural meeting point for rhythm and blues, where feeling has always been at the center of the conversation. Soul and funk add their own vocabulary of groove and directness, making this a release to approach through its songs rather than any story invented around them. Issued as a 7-inch single, it carries the catalog number 45xM 1046. The pairing leaves space for two distinct turns on the familiar theme of being alone.
