Arthur Adams - Reggae Bump / Reggae Bump

Description
“Reggae Bump” appears on both sides, giving Arthur Adams’ 1976 single a wonderfully direct focus. A guitarist and singer working in soul and funk, Adams brings the track into a lively meeting place between those traditions and disco’s dancefloor pulse, while the title points toward reggae’s unmistakable rhythmic vocabulary. That crossing of styles is part of the pleasure: dance music has long found fresh routes by borrowing, answering and reshaping rhythms across scenes. Issued by Fantasy as catalog number F-777-A-M, this United States pressing keeps the spotlight on one composition and the groove at its heart. The pairing makes repetition feel like an invitation to stay with the rhythm.
