Artists United Against Apartheid - Sun City / Not So Far Away (Dub Version)

Description
“Sun City” and “Not So Far Away (Dub Version)” bring a sharply contrasting pair together: a direct title on one side, a dub version on the other. Released in 1985 as a 7 inch single in the United States, the record is credited to Artists United Against Apartheid, with Manhattan Records and catalog number B50017. Its blend of electronic, hip hop and rock styles sits alongside a dub tradition that reshapes a song through space, repetition and emphasis, turning the treatment itself into part of the musical statement. The contrast between these two titles gives this release its distinctive shape.
