Backwater - Virginia / Virginia

Description
Backwater’s 1984 release on A.M.I. Records brings “Virginia” to both sides, a title that sits naturally within the enduring world of traditional country. The style has long made room for direct storytelling and familiar melodies, carrying a song through plainspoken sentiment rather than elaborate production. Here, “Virginia” is the focus, with the single issued in the USA as A.M.I. 1920 AA. Backwater is the credited artist, and the repeated title gives this release a clear, uncomplicated center. Traditional country’s appeal often lies in that closeness: a well-shaped song can feel at home in many hands, while keeping its own name and story intact.
