Bay City Rollers - Marlina / Saturday Night

Description
Arista’s 1975 US single catches the Bay City Rollers in the bright, restless world of mid-seventies pop. “Marlina” shares the record with “Saturday Night,” a title that would soon become closely associated with the group, while glam’s bold hooks and pop rock’s direct energy give this moment its cultural setting. The Bay City Rollers name belongs to an era when pop could feel both polished and exuberant, inviting listeners to take part rather than stand back. Issued as Arista AS 0149, this 7-inch places two song titles side by side from a band whose appeal was rooted in the joyful immediacy of pop.
