Bernardo Y Sus Compadres - La Jaula Abierta / Queta's Polka

Description
On Dina’s 1985 U.S. single, Bernardo Y Sus Compadres bring two titles together: “La Jaula Abierta” and “Queta's Polka.” The corrido and polka traditions meet naturally in Tejano conjunto, where storytelling and dance music have long shared a place in community life. A corrido can carry a tale in direct, memorable verses; polka’s lively pulse gives dancers a clear invitation to move. This pairing, issued as Dina DINA-352, puts those neighboring traditions side by side without asking them to be the same. Its titles make a neat meeting point between the narrative spirit of corrido and the enduring social dance of polka.
