Bobby Bland - I'm Sorry / Yum Yum Tree

Description
Duke’s “I’m Sorry” pairs Bobby Bland with “Yum Yum Tree” on catalog number 466, a compact meeting of two titles from a singer whose work sits in the rich tradition of soul. Soul music often finds its force in the space between restraint and release: a direct vocal presence can make a simple phrase feel weighty, while the groove keeps the song moving. That tradition makes a 7-inch single feel especially apt, bringing the songs close and immediate without asking for grand gestures. Bland’s name is the thread joining these titles, and the record’s soul setting places that connection in a musical language built around voice and feeling.
