Bonnie Pointer - Deep Inside My Soul / Deep Inside My Soul

Description
On both sides, “Deep Inside My Soul” keeps the focus on one title, a fitting choice for a disco single built around return and repetition. Bonnie Pointer is a soul singer, and here she meets disco’s delight in a strong pulse and a refrain that can gather momentum each time it comes around. The style grew from dance-floor traditions that made rhythm central, drawing on soul and funk while shaping songs for sustained movement. Issued by Motown as M 1484F in 1979, this USA pressing places Pointer’s name beside a label closely associated with soul. The two sides give the same song room to keep its place in the groove.
