Boy George - Don't Take My Mind On A Trip / Girlfriend

Description
Boy George steps into the dance-pop current with “Don't Take My Mind On A Trip,” a 1989 single that brings pop-soul and New Jack Swing into the same lively conversation. The track’s title hints at a playful escape, while its place in the era’s shifting pop landscape makes it a neat meeting point between polished hooks and the rhythmic pull of R&B. Turn to “Girlfriend” for the other side of this pairing, and the song titles alone suggest two distinct angles on romance and distraction. Released by Virgin as 7-99272 in the United States, it captures a moment when New Jack Swing was giving pop a fresh, syncopated pulse.
