Brook Benton - A Little Bit Of Soap / My Way

Description
“A Little Bit Of Soap” and “My Way” pair two song titles with a pleasing sense of contrast, brought together on a 7-inch single by Brook Benton. A singer working in the rich tradition of soul and pop vocals, Benton makes the voice the natural point of connection between these sides. That meeting of styles is part of the pleasure: popular song can carry the directness of soul while keeping its eye on a memorable tune. Cotillion issued the United States pressing as 45-44072, a compact release that lets both titles stand in their own right. Benton’s place here is firmly in the enduring craft of the vocal single.
