Carpenters - I Need To Be In Love / Sandy

Description
“I Need To Be In Love” and “Sandy” bring two Carpenters songs together on a 1976 A&M Records single, catalog number 1828-S. The pairing suits the intimate scale of vocal pop, where a melody can feel like a conversation and a carefully shaped performance gives each phrase room to matter. The Carpenters’ place in pop rests in part on that clear, close attention to song and voice; here, the titles themselves invite different kinds of reflection without needing to tell us what either song means. The release is a small reminder of pop’s enduring craft: making a personal feeling feel easy to share.
