Carpenters - Yesterday Once More / Road Ode

Description
Soft pop has a way of making a memory feel close enough to touch. The Carpenters bring that warmth to this 1973 single, pairing “Yesterday Once More” with “Road Ode.” Karen and Richard Carpenter were a pop duo, and their music sits in a tradition where clear melodies and an intimate ballad style let a song’s feeling take center stage. There’s a lovely contrast in the titles here: one looks back, the other moves along, giving this release its own small sense of motion without needing a grand story. A&M Records issued it as catalog number 1446-S. The Carpenters’ place in pop rests on songs built to be remembered.
