Charley Pride - Honky Tonk Blues / Honky Tonk Blues

Description
In 1980, Charley Pride brought “Honky Tonk Blues” to a 7-inch single, with the title appearing on both sides. Pride was a country singer, and this release draws on the honky-tonk tradition: country music shaped around the lively, plainspoken world of the dance hall and the barroom. The repeated title gives the record a clear center, while its familiar phrase carries a long lineage in country song. Issued by Rca as JH-11912, this United States pressing keeps the focus on a classic country title and the performer who made it his own.
