Cher - Take Me Home / My Song (Too Far Gone)

Description
Cher’s 1979 single brings disco’s pulse into conversation with the intimacy of a ballad, a pairing that gives the music a lovely sense of contrast. The title song, “Take Me Home,” shares this release with “My Song (Too Far Gone),” inviting two distinct moods without asking either to give up its own character. Disco has always made room for more than pure dance-floor escape: its steady motion can carry tenderness and drama as naturally as celebration. Cher’s broad pop association makes that meeting especially compelling here. Issued in the United States by Casablanca as NB 965, this single holds onto the graceful tension between movement and feeling.
