Cheryl Lynn - Preppie / Preppie

Description
Cheryl Lynn brings a sharp, playful title to “Preppie,” a 1983 disco single with funk’s steady pulse at its heart. Disco has always made room for a little theatrical flair: a groove can be both tightly crafted and light on its feet, inviting the dancefloor to share in the fun. Here, “Preppie” appears on both sides, keeping the focus on the song itself rather than a change of scene. Issued by Columbia as 38-04153, the 7-inch belongs to a moment when disco’s bright rhythmic language was still finding fresh ways to move. Its charm lies in that meeting of polish and play.
