Children's Choir, First Presbyterian Church - Five Sacred Songs / Six Nursery Rhymes

Description
A 7-inch single brings together two small collections from the Children's Choir, First Presbyterian Church: “Five Sacred Songs” and “Six Nursery Rhymes.” That pairing gives the record a lovely sense of range, moving from music shaped for worship to familiar songs made for children to join in. Choral singing can make even simple melodies feel shared, and nursery rhymes carry their own kind of musical tradition: tunes passed along through voices, memory and repetition. Released on Rpc as 603661, this USA pressing places sacred and everyday childhood singing side by side, a reminder that music can belong both to a congregation and to the playroom.
