Chris Spedding - Motor Bikin’ / Working For The Union

Description
Rak Records’ 1975 single brings Chris Spedding to the fore with “Motor Bikin’” and “Working For The Union,” a pair of titles that put motion and working life side by side. Spedding is a rock guitarist, and the record’s rock & roll setting draws on a tradition built for direct, memorable songs: lean forms, clear hooks and a beat that keeps things moving. The contrast between the two titles gives this release its own character without needing a grand story around it. Issued as RAK 210 in the United Kingdom, it belongs to a moment when rock & roll remained a lively home for concise, sharply named songs.
