Chuck Jackson - Shine Shine Shine / I'm Needing You, Wanting You

Description
A little soul goes a long way. Chuck Jackson brings a singer’s sensibility to this 1975 disco-soul single, where the era’s dance-floor pulse meets the expressive vocal tradition at the heart of soul. The titles, “Shine Shine Shine” and “I'm Needing You, Wanting You,” offer a glimpse of the record’s two sides without giving away more than their words promise. Issued in the United States by Platinum Record Co. as AP.2360, it belongs to a moment when funk and soul were finding fresh ways to move together. That meeting of rhythm and feeling is still a lovely thing to hear about.
