Clydie King - The Long And Winding Road / Never Like This Before

Description
Clydie King brings a soul singer’s directness to a pair of titles that invite two different kinds of attention. On “The Long And Winding Road,” a familiar song title meets the intimate scale of a 7-inch single; flip it over for “Never Like This Before,” whose title turns the mood toward something more personal. The contrast gives the record its small but satisfying arc, from a road already named to a feeling that sounds newly discovered. Issued in the USA on Lizard, catalog X21005, this single sits in soul’s enduring tradition of making a brief performance feel close and human.
