Clydie King - The Long And Winding Road / Never Like This Before

Description
Clydie King brings a soul singer’s sensibility to this pairing of “The Long And Winding Road” and “Never Like This Before,” placing two sharply contrasting titles in the intimate world of a 7-inch single. Soul has always made room for songs to be reshaped through voice and feeling, turning familiar material into something personal while giving new compositions their own emotional weight. That tradition gives this release its appeal: it invites a listener to linger over the space between a well-known title and a less familiar one, without asking either to explain the other. Issued on Lizard as X21005, it captures the enduring, direct address of soul music.
