Commodores - Just To Be Close To You / Fancy Dancer

Description
Motown Yesteryear Series brings the Commodores’ 1976 single together on MOT-593, pairing “Just To Be Close To You” with “Fancy Dancer.” The group’s soul sits in a rich tradition where intimate feeling and a strong rhythmic pulse belong side by side: tenderness can move with the groove rather than step away from it. These two titles give that balance a clear shape, with the close embrace of one set against the lively promise of the other. The Commodores’ place in soul is rooted in that meeting of warmth and motion, a tradition that keeps the heart and the dance floor in conversation.
