Crown Heights Affair - Do It The French Way / Sexy Ways

Description
A 1977 De-Lite Records single, DE-1692, pairs Crown Heights Affair’s “Do It The French Way” with “Sexy Ways.” Disco gave funk and soul a fresh dance-floor pulse in the 1970s, bringing their rhythmic drive into a brighter, more streamlined setting; this release sits right in that lively meeting place. The titles make for a playful pairing, moving from a teasing invitation to a more intimate turn without needing a grand concept to hold them together. Crown Heights Affair are the thread running through both sides, and the record captures a moment when funk’s tight groove and disco’s open-hearted energy belonged together.
