David Castle - Ten To Eight / Finally

Description
“Ten To Eight” is a title that leaves room for a little anticipation, and David Castle pairs it here with “Finally,” giving this 1977 single a pleasing sense of arrival. Castle’s work sits in the soul and pop tradition, where a vocal ballad can make intimacy feel expansive without losing its human scale. That tradition has always made space for the voice to carry the story, letting tenderness and directness share the same line. Released on Parachute as RR 501, this United States pressing belongs to a moment when soul and pop met in concise, song-centered form. The two titles make time itself part of the record’s story.
