David Soul - Black Bean Soup / Don't Give Up On Us

Description
“Don’t Give Up On Us” makes its appeal in the language of the pop ballad: a direct address, a plea to hold on, and a melody built around feeling rather than flash. David Soul brings an actor’s instinct for shaping a song’s words into a personal moment, while the softer side of 1970s pop rock gives that intimacy room to breathe. “Black Bean Soup” offers a different kind of title, adding a curious turn to the pairing without needing to explain itself. Issued in 1976 by Private Stock Records as PS 45,129, this single connects Soul with pop’s enduring tradition of songs that speak plainly to the heart.
