De Makkers - Ja Ik Wil / Wintertijd

Description
Schlager has a knack for making a simple sentiment feel ready to sing along with, and this 1972 single by De Makkers brings that directness into Dutch pop. “Ja Ik Wil” and “Wintertijd” give the record two distinct, evocative titles, each rooted in the plainspoken appeal that has long made schlager a welcoming tradition: memorable songs built to meet listeners where they are. Released in the Netherlands on Elf Provincien, catalog number ELF 67.64-G, it belongs to a period when pop and schlager could share an easy, familiar language. De Makkers keep the focus on the songs themselves.
