Goodman was known for building songs around snippets of other recordings, turning familiar sounds into punchlines and musical conversation. That approach belongs to a lively pop tradition in which timing and surprise can matter as much as a tune’s own melody. Issued as a 7-inch single in the United States, this one pairs Goodman’s knack for musical mischief with the unmistakable title “Mr. Jaws.” The label and catalog number are Cash Records, CR 451.
