Don Cherry - To Think You've Chosen Me / Whippoorwill

Description
Monument’s recording pairs Don Cherry with two country songs that find their pull in the plainspoken art of a memorable melody. “To Think You’ve Chosen Me” brings a tender idea to the fore, while “Whippoorwill” turns to a bird whose name has long carried a place in country song and storytelling. Cherry is a country singer, and this release sits comfortably in a tradition where direct words and familiar images make room for feeling without dressing it up. The label and catalog number, Monument Mn 45-1130, identify this United States pressing. Together, the titles show how country music can make a small, everyday image linger.
