Donna Summer - Macarthur Park / Once Upon A Time

Description
Casablanca / Pye Records’ 1978 single brings Donna Summer’s disco into the compact, story-rich world of pop. “Macarthur Park” and “Once Upon A Time” each carry a title that opens a little door, while Summer’s commanding presence gives these songs a clear centre. Disco grew from dance-floor traditions that prized pulse, release and the shared lift of a room moving together; here, that energy meets the sweep of a song built to hold attention beyond the beat. Issued in the United Kingdom as CAN 131, this release catches a moment when disco could feel both communal and theatrical, inviting listeners into its world one song at a time.
