Donna Summer / The Specials - Macarthur Park / Concrete Jungle / Too Hot

Description
Two distinct worlds meet on this 1978 UK single: Donna Summer brings “Macarthur Park,” while The Specials take the other side with “Concrete Jungle / Too Hot.” The pairing links disco’s expansive pop language with the sharp, propulsive spirit of ska revival and 2-Tone, traditions that turn rhythm into both invitation and attitude. On Casablanca, catalog number CAN 131, the release lets each artist keep a clear identity rather than forcing a false musical kinship. Summer’s name belongs to disco, and The Specials’ to ska; together, the titles make an intriguing little crossroads between dancefloor glamour and the restless pulse of British ska.
