Dorothy Moore - Write A Little Prayer / (We Need More) Loving Time

Description
There’s a lovely directness to soul when it lets a feeling speak plainly. Dorothy Moore brings that spirit to “Write A Little Prayer,” pairing it with “(We Need More) Loving Time” on Malaco, catalog number 1054, from 1978. The titles suggest two small, human gestures—hope offered upward and tenderness asked for between people—without needing grand declarations to make their point. Funk and rhythm & blues have long made room for that kind of emotional candor, giving personal words a pulse and a sense of movement. Moore’s single belongs to that welcoming tradition, where a prayer and a plea can sit comfortably side by side.
