Earth, Wind & Fire - Writing On The Wall / System Of Survival (With Narration)

Description
Earth, Wind & Fire bring “Writing On The Wall” to the front of this 1987 single, with the group’s funk and soul roots meeting the sleek, machine-driven pulse of late-eighties electro-funk. That meeting gives the track a place in a tradition where a strong groove can carry both warmth and forward motion. Turn to “System Of Survival (With Narration),” and the record’s other side offers a distinct companion, with its spoken element named right there in the title. Issued in the USA by Columbia as 38-07608, this pairing catches a group working within funk’s enduring conversation between human feel and electronic rhythm.
