Eddie Fisher - Heaven Was Never Like This / I Need You Now

Description
Eddie Fisher opens with “Heaven Was Never Like This,” a title that places a little romantic drama at the heart of this pop vocal single. Fisher was a singer, and the classic pop tradition gives a voice room to carry a song’s feeling with directness and polish, letting the melody and the words meet without fuss. Here, that sense of closeness is part of the appeal: the song’s promise feels personal rather than grand. Turn the record over for “I Need You Now,” which keeps the focus on longing and devotion. Issued by Rca Victor as 47-5830, this single offers two concise expressions of pop’s enduring language of love.
