Eddie Kendricks - Shoeshine Boy / Hooked On Your Love

Description
“Shoeshine Boy” opens a little doorway into the easy, soulful side of disco, where a steady groove leaves room for a singer to make each phrase count. Eddie Kendricks brings the warmth of a soul vocalist to this 1975 single, then “Hooked On Your Love” turns the story toward devotion without needing grand gestures. The two titles sit naturally together, rooted in the close connection between soul and disco: dance music with feeling at its center. Issued by Tamla as 62990-S, the record reflects a moment when soul’s expressive voice and disco’s pulse could share the same space.
