Eddie Phillips - City Woman / Duckin’ & Weavin’

Description
Casablanca’s 1977 single brings Eddie Phillips into a soulful story of city life and quick-footed movement. “City Woman” shares the record with “Duckin’ & Weavin’,” two titles that set contrasting scenes without needing to spell everything out. Phillips works in the broad tradition of soul, where a song can turn everyday encounters into something charged with feeling and rhythm. That tradition thrives on directness: a vivid phrase, a human point of view, and a groove that keeps the story moving. Issued as Casablanca NB 898, this United States pressing connects Phillips’s name with a pair of memorable titles and soul’s enduring gift for making personal moments feel shared.
