Elvin Bishop - Spend Some Time / Sugar Dumplin’

Description
Elvin Bishop brings a rootsy warmth to this 1976 single, where rock’s open-road spirit meets the earthy pull of country and blues. That blend has always made room for grit and good humor, and the titles here suggest a pairing with plenty of character: “Spend Some Time” sits alongside “Sugar Dumplin’,” each offering its own small invitation into Bishop’s musical world. Bishop is a guitarist, and the blues tradition’s expressive, conversational guitar language gives this kind of rock its human scale. Issued in the United States on Capricorn Records as CPS 0266, this 7-inch preserves a distinctive slice of mid-’70s roots rock.
