Equals - Baby Come Back / Hold Me Closer

Description
Pop has always had a gift for making a direct invitation feel like a whole story, and this 1979 Equals single brings that spirit into focus. “Baby Come Back” opens with a plea that needs no elaborate setup; the title itself carries the ache of someone hoping a door might still open. On the flip, “Hold Me Closer” turns toward a different kind of closeness, giving the two songs a natural conversation rather than a simple repeat. Old Gold’s LIG 9021 presents both sides in a compact slice of pop rock, where plainspoken feeling and a memorable refrain can do plenty of work.
