First Choice - One Step Away / Smarty Pants

Description
That Philly glow is hard to resist. First Choice brings the sparkle and pulse of early disco to this 1973 single, where soul’s expressive vocals meet a steady, dance-minded groove. The story moves through “One Step Away” and “Smarty Pants,” two titles that place the group in the lively world of Philadelphia soul without needing any extra fanfare. That music was built for movement, but its roots in vocal soul give it warmth as well as lift. Issued by Philly Groove Records as PG 179, this USA pressing captures a moment when disco was taking shape through rhythm, feeling and an irresistible invitation to dance.
