Flamingos - Vooit Vooit / September Song

Description
On Collectables COL 1467, the Flamingos bring two songs together at the crossroads of doo-wop, early R&B and rock & roll. “Vooit Vooit” shares the single with “September Song,” pairing a title that feels rooted in doo-wop’s playful vocal tradition with a song drawn from the broader American popular-song repertoire. Doo-wop grew from close-harmony singing, where voices could carry a tune with warmth and rhythmic lift; early R&B and rock & roll helped that vocal approach find fresh audiences. The Flamingos’ pairing makes room for both a distinctive song title and a familiar standard, linked here by one group and one enduring tradition.
