Freddy Cannon - Action / Way Down Yonder In New Orleans

Description
Eric Records’ 264 single brings Freddy Cannon’s “Action” together with “Way Down Yonder In New Orleans,” two titles that place the record firmly in the spirited world of rock & roll. Cannon’s name is closely associated with the era’s exuberant vocal rock, where a strong lead voice and a direct, memorable song could turn a few minutes into a lively little event. “Action” supplies the A-side title, while “Way Down Yonder In New Orleans” carries a place-name rooted in a long-running American song tradition. That meeting of rock & roll energy and a familiar musical landmark gives this release its particular character.
