Gary Morris - Velvet Chains / When I Close My Eyes

Description
Released in 1982, this Gary Morris single brings together “Velvet Chains” and “When I Close My Eyes,” two titles that place a little romance and reflection at the heart of a country release. Country music has long made room for songs that turn private feelings into plainspoken stories, carried by melody and a strong sense of the words; that tradition gives this pairing its natural setting. Issued by Warner Bros. Records as 7-29853, the single connects Morris with a form built for intimacy as much as for a memorable refrain. Its two titles leave the listener with a small, evocative contrast: what holds us close, and what we see inwardly.
