George Jones & Shelby Lynne / The Isley Brothers - I Always Get It Right With You / It's Your Thing

Description
George Jones & Shelby Lynne share this 1988 single with The Isley Brothers, bringing country and soul into an unexpected conversation. “I Always Get It Right With You” sits beside “It's Your Thing,” a pairing that makes room for two distinct traditions without asking either to give up its character. Country songs often make their point through direct feeling and a strong, memorable refrain; funk and soul turn groove and self-possession into their own kind of statement. That contrast gives this United States pressing its particular appeal. Issued by Epic as catalog number 3-08011, it joins two familiar names in a compact meeting of styles.
